"Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced" Sadly Boring

Normally, I like to write the blurbs for these albums prior to listening to them, but this time I decided not to. Partially because I forgot to, and partially because I don't have much to say. Of course, I have some knowledge of music that came before me, and as someone who enjoys rock music of course I've heard of Jimi Hendrix before. The only issue is, a part of me kind of wishes I never actually listened to this album. Before listening to this album the only song I knew by Hendrix was Angel, which I did find out because Zayn did a bad cover of. Sadly, I have to report that I did not particularly enjoy this album, I just don't get it. Or at least that's what I'd like to think because apparently a lot of people get much enjoyment or value from it. Perhaps I'm simply too young to enjoy it, or my I just can't understand it. So without further ado, my track-by-track review.

Are You Experienced - Jimi Hendrix

Foxy Lady - 60/100 I feel like songs were more loose and liberal with song structures and conciseness back then and this song isn't convincing me otherwise.

Manic Depression - 50/100 Pretty similar complaints to the last song. They have decent bases but these songs just sound like the musical equivalent of rambling to me. I would just like Hendrix to do more with what he's shown.

Red House - 50/100 This will sound disrespectful but this song would go great in the background of a film scene. It just doesn't have or do enough to be the "centerpiece" music to me. In the sense that I would never go out of my way to listen to this nor do I think it's interesting enough to just listen to on my own.

Can You See Me - 60/100 Probably the best song I've heard so far solely because it's trying to have some semblance of song structure.

Love or Confusion - 50/100 The answer is confusion. I'm confused at how this album is rated so highly.

I Don't Live Today - 40/100 Maybe I don't like rock music as much as I thought.

May This Be Love  - 50/100 You know I had hope for this song.

Fire - 55/100 Well this song is faster and thus marginally better.

3rd Stone From The Sun - 40/100 I have no faith in Jimmy to use the extra time he's allotted to this song to do anything enjoyable or interesting. Edit: I was right.

Remember - 60/100 Heartwarming: Musician remembers music is supposed to be fun.

Are You Experienced - 40/100 Just glad it ended.

Final Score: 50/100
