      Imagine my surprise to put on a song from this band and hear Jonny Craig of all people on this record. Now, I will not pretend to be the worlds biggest Jonny Craig fan, I started listening to Dance Gavin Dance long after he left, and honestly my fondest DGD memories rarely involved him. Yeah I enjoyed Downtown Battle Mountain II, but I was always a Tillian guy. Though frankly considering how many vocalists the band cycles through it'd be a safer bet to just not root for any of them. I mean sure the Macbook thing was funny but Craig also had the worst history by far so I was never too inclined to try and appreciate him. Nevertheless, I did really enjoy A Toast to the future kids! , so I have high hopes for this album that my friend CJ's fake girlfriend recommended, so without further ado a track-by-track review.     I mean this in the kindest way possible. I've been informed by people whose opinion I trust that this album is hilariously bad. As such, I won't pretend as if I'm excited for this, and will say that if it gets bad enough I will start posting funny photos instead. So without further ado, my track-by-track review. BLACK BOY FLY - LaRussell & Mike & Keys Infinty i30 - 50/100 I'm just glad that the songs are all short. What does "Clockin' 9-5, I'm tryna get male diapers 'Member I can only buy whites by the box" even mean. This chorus is pretty funny though I can't lie.       I remember when I was a child I had a toy of "The Toad" in Flushed Away . I really had no idea what he was, the amphibians in this film possess no discernible physical features. Really all I remember is that it came from a McDonald's happy meal and you could stretch his mouth to fit your finger inside of it. That is pretty much the extent of what I remembered of this movie. So much so that when it was put on during a family gathering, I didn't even realize that the main characters were supposed to be rats. I mean they look so humanoid that I just assumed they were little people living underground. Even still, I'd say this movie holds up quite well, even almost twenty years later, and while it isn't my favourite Dreamworks movie, I don't think it should fall to the wayside either.     Easily, my favourite part of this film was the creativity that just oozes from it.       I could probably spend this whole paragraph talking about how in the 2020's Patrick Bateman is seen to some as this weird incel icon, but frankly I don't need to. If you misinterpret this film then you're legitimately just stupid, and somehow this entire film flew over your head. I'm going to be honest, the way some people idolize this film I was a little skeptical I was going to enjoy it. Boy was I wrong. I have to admit this film was pretty funny, and it certainly exceeded any sort of expectations or notions I had about it. Honestly, what surprised me the most is how relevant it still is to this day. You'd expect it and it's commentary to have aged at least a little bit, but in a world filled with hustle culture and the "manosphere", it's not hard to see how it fits within modern discourse.     Where do I even start with this album. I first discovered this band while rock climbing with a friend, he had kept on mispronouncing this bands name, calling them "Attack on Black's." Of course this sounded hilariously incorrect and racist, at the time I didn't find the band particularly riveting, I mean sure they were Canadian, but you don't see me rushing out to listen to Nickelback. It was only until months later, when I heard it again bouldering that I finally decided to give the band a bit more of a listen, at first Young Leaves, was the only song that stood out to me, I thought the folkier elements were interesting, but sadly the singing left a lot to desire.       Obligatory intro about how I know nothing about this artist or this album. Shoutout to my friend Slayer for recommending it though, I do tend to enjoy reviews where I have no bias or preconceived notions tainting my opinion, regardless of how I actually feel about the projects. It's pretty short all things considered so hopefully I don't feel like it's bogging me down.
