"It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 6, 7, 8, 9" How Many More Seasons Are There?

 


    It has been four seasons of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia since I've written a review for the show, and that's for one simple reason, I just kind of forgot. I mean the show's just good, it casually chugs along tackling any and all issues it wants. I mean one of these seasons Mac literally just got fat to prove that he could, and to do a bit. I mean you'd hope that once you reach 10 seasons you'd have your formula and process down pat and streamlined. And I have to say they do. Sure is it the same formula? Yes, but the chemistry between the cast is so good, and it's not like they've ever had these overarching storylines to worry about, so why not go on for as long as they want? I'd argue at this point it's become better anyways, they've given up on any sort of notion that the characters are any bit sane, so why not? So without further ado I guess here are my favourite episodes from each season.

    If I had to choose my favourite episodes from season 6 I think it would probably be the ones surrounding Dee's Pregnancy. Who got Dee pregnant, where they go on this whole goose chase where everyone tries to recall what happened the night of the Halloween party was fun. I'm going to be honest at first I had thought that they were going to do a "Mac's the father" thing because of course he's the real husband to Dee in real life, and the ostrich thing did seem odd, but having them just hand off the baby so it had no real significance on the story was also pretty funny I suppose. The only other real big episode of note or significance this season would probably be the whole Dennis getting married bit at the beginning. At first I thought it'd be interesting to see him married, but of course a womanizer like him never would have stuck it out. I just saw the deleted episode Dee Reynolds: Shaping America's Youth  and Lethal Weapon 5 is definitely one of the funniest bits I've ever seen in the show.

    I'd probably say I enjoyed season 7 of IASIP more than season 6, just because I thought Mac randomly getting fat for a season was a pretty funny bit. If I had to say my favourite episodes they'd probably be pretty Frank centric though. Like Frank Reynolds' Little Beauties just because watching Frank cut in with I promise I'm not a pedophile every time was always funny. On a side note why does IASIP randomly come out with like half-decent songs? I suppose they need to make them catchy because Charlie is supposed to be a secret musical genius but like I'm always pleasantly surprised that they're better than I expect. Of course, I was also a fan of Chardee MacDennis. I mean after all how can I complain about the lack of episodes that take place in the bar, only to not enjoy the one that takes place entirely within the bar. I oddly enough enjoyed the Frank's Brother episode more than I thought I would, I just think the name Shadynasty is very interesting.

    For season 8 of course I loved the first episode, just because this whole idea that their grandpa was casually a Nazi was such a novel idea to me. I wonder how you explain to a bunch of execs that you want to hire multiple young children and to say sieg hiel, but not because you're doing Nazi propaganda. I also enjoyed Charlie Rules The World, because watching Charlie not be the one that gets screwed over, and actually having him hold some power over the rest of the gang was pretty interesting in my opinion. For season 9, I'd probably say that The Gang Gets Quarantined is just amazing for the sole fact that Danny Devito shaved himself and then covered himself in hand saniziter. I also oddly enjoyed The Gang Saves The Day because watching them all have their own fantasies of becoming heroes just for them to run out was pretty entertaining.

Final Score: 75/100

    It was pretty entertaining I guess. I've mostly actually just been going through all of the deleted episodes for this show that I've never seen. There's really only one more episode that isn't on streaming services. I never knew the show had that much blackface though. Hopefully I can finish the rest of the show semi-soon, especially because there are still like 7 seasons of this show for me to get through. Otherwise, my next review will be probably be Fallout London whenever I finish it. Hopefully, I also get through that because the reviews for this blog are probably going to be slowing down significantly as I get back into the swing of things with school and work.

      Look, Danny Devito was the only reason this show had any sort of foothold in my mind. I kept on repeating I'm the trash man through many of my younger years, and frankly, after looking at the absurd number of seasons, I've always been wary of starting this sitcom. In fact, I had even given it a shot before this, but no Devito, oddly low quality and format for the time period, and just general wariness had kept me from going past the pilot. "System Of A Down - Toxicity" Stick it Out for the Second Half

      I have in fact tried listening to this album before. I remember Anthony Fantano saying he really loved Toxicity , so I decided to put on Prison Song  at 12 pm, before promptly realizing this is exactly the kind of music I'd rather not listen to going to sleep, and that the song was really on the nose. Other than that I have absolutely no prior experience with System Of A Down other than Chop Suey!  which is a lovely song that Jeff Rosenstock continues to play before every single one of his shows (thankfully). So I suppose I won't pretend to deliberate further because I'm not particularly a big metalhead either, so I doubt any knowledge I might impart would be useful. Toxicity - System Of A Down Prison Song  - 55/100 While the chorus and the song in general goes pretty hard, I have to say just the whole delivery of the verses is really holding this song back. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 2"

      To me, Danny Devito was always It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia . Not because I was actually a big fan of him, but rather because he's so unique, with the way he looks and his general stature, I was half expecting him to steal the show and constantly be doing these feats of physical comedy. But he didn't, and I suppose that's on me, after all everyone in this TV show is supposed to be an asshole, so did I really expect him to be any different? I guess I just have this perception of him as this nice old man from Matilda but honestly at first his appearance in this show was just really jarring to me. He frankly looks younger than you'd think he is, though I suppose that's because of the age of the show, and him being framed as the father to Dee and Dennis took some getting used to for me. In spite of all that, I'd say by the end of this season Devito had grown on me, and frankly him and his hijinks are a welcome addition to help round out this cast.
