"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 3"

It's Always Sunny In Philidaelphia returns, and this time longer and better, with a whole 15 new episodes instead of the 10 season 2 had or the weird 7 episodes season 1 had. And to that end I'd say the gang does a pretty admiral job of filling in the extra time they used, though I would say I have begun to notice that some episodes fall flat in their face. It's not that the premise or hijinks the gang got up were bad perse, it's more just so that the ending punchline seemed off, or didn't end on the usual funny high note a lot of the episodes in previous seasons did. Take for example Dennis Looks Like a Registered Sex Offender. The premise makes sense but the delivery is just a little of, and it paled in comparison as a result. All Dennis and Dee do that episode is get Dennis beat up a little, then have a child recite some poem about being raped by a recently-released Pedophile. While it does sound funny and absurd in typical Sunny fashion, it resolves itself relatively cleanly and quickly, and as such it didn't feel that impactful. Especially when it was supposed to be the main story as showcased by the title, but it felt like they focused more on the relationship between Mac and his father.

That's not to say that all the episodes were a little funny (in a bad way), because there were some episodes where I couldn't stop laughing at how stupid they were. Take for example Sweet Dee's Dating a Retarded Person, an episode which has not aged spectacularly. Frankly, even if you still say the R word I imagine it sounds kind of grating because it's as if the actors decided that they were going to be saying the word as much as possible, creating this super awkward situation. But it's not like it's meant to disparage anyone who might be offended by the word, because the entire time it is very apparent to readers that none of this would be an issue if the characters would simply ask, or stop being so prejudiced against people who may have disabilities. Watching Charlie sing about the night man who visits him and fills him up at night with Dennis had me laughing though, and I think that might be one of the funniest moments in the show. While I certainly wouldn't listen to a Night Man song, it was catchier than I thought it'd be. Or what about The Aluminum Monster vs. Fatty Mcgoo. Having "german propaganda" be blasted through the speakers during the sweatshop scene was hilarious. The entire premise was so dumb and stupid, and the fact that they built an entire sweatshop under the bar just made it that much better.

Final Score: 78/100

Am I giving every single season of this show the same rating at the moment? Yes of course I am. Frankly it should probably be higher for every season. I will say that the quality this show stays at is very consistent the only real noticeable drop off is from episode to episode it's never any real significant season to season drop off. Of course I've only watched three seasons of a show that somehow has sixteen seasons so there's always time for them to remedy the situation and change my mind, which they may very well do. I must admit though, I am very glad I gave this show a second chance, and I do implore people to watch this absolutely stupid, funny show.
