"Justice League Unlimited Season 3" Same Old Same Old, For Better or for Worse

Thank god my reviews are only like five paragraphs long most of the time, because I really do not have much to say about Justice League Unlimited Season 3. It is basically the exact same thing, once again, which is good, except they also manage to have the awful finale. What is up with Justice League Unlimited and just waiting the finale, the corny ending was fine, showcasing all the characters who had been present was fine, but at the same time it was also like why did they bring Darkseid back? I can't tell what I would have preferred, they went with the old and tired Lex Braniac villain again, or they brought Darkseid back.

I mean it was just so anticlimactic, the battle barely focused on Darkseid, it mostly just focused on the villains and heroes fighting. Don't even get me started on the Legion of Doom, I mean they were being set up as the next big bad, only for them to just help the Justice League fight an army of parademons in a montage of cameos. I don't know I just wish it could have been better. Not to mention Grodd just kind of dies, and Lex just sort of becomes insane? I definitely think I preferred Amanda Waller and the government being the villains like in last season, but what can I do, this show was released over 10 years ago.

That's not to say I didn't enjoy some parts of this show, in fact I actually really loved Patriot Act. Who knew that Shining Knight and Vigilante would have been one of my favourite bromances. I mean both characters are hilariously goofy, they literally are just a random ass knight and a cowboy, and I have no idea what their superpowers were, but I'm in love with them, easily an S-tier duo in my eyes from now on. Another episode I also really enjoyed was Flash and Substance, though I wish it had Flash interacting with more OG leaguers other than Batman. As everyone well knows, Wally West has been one of my favourite characters throughout this entire timeline of the Justice League Series, so to see him get the shine he deserves was much appreciated.

I can't say the same for Martian Manhunter though. I can't believe they decided he was on the watchtower too much, so their solution was to have him leave the team for a while, it was ridiculous. To be honest the more I watch it the more I long for the original format of the show, or at the very least more screentime. While it was cool to see that an OG leaguer was featured in every single episode, I felt like it could have used more character interactions. Though, I have been complaining about this issue pretty much ever since I started watching Justice League Unlimited, you miss the old friendships that appeared, and you pretty much don't get any new ones because they're trying to do the whole "new hero of the week" kind of thing.

Final Score: 70/100

Look I lapped up this show like it was the sweetest honey known to man, but even I can tell when a show has run it's course. I think I liked the format of Teen Titans better, because at the very least each season kind of focused on one character at a time. Here you hardly get to see the everyday interactions of the superheroes, and I would have definitely loved to see them as more than just superheroes. Who wouldn't want to see superheroes actually being friends, or them when they're normal. I don't know if it's just me but at the very least they ended it before they could come up with another terrible finale.
