"Justice League Season 2" Bigger and Better?

When I first finished watching season 1 of Justice League, I came out with this kind of impression: it's a decent kids show I'd put on while I'm cooking, but otherwise I'm not sure if it could stand on it's own. Well, after watching the second and final season of the Justice League that it can indeed stand on it's own, believe the hype. There were so many times I hoped I was cooking, so I could throw the show on and continue the series. I don't know if it was because the plots became more interesting, or that I was simply more invested in characters I had a whole season to get used to.

As someone who has no memory of ever actually watching Justice League it's kind of cool having all these memories and clips come back to me over the years. I'm surprisingly familiar with many of the episodes premises, though I never realized it. Whether it be A Better World, Starcrossed, or Maid of Honor, it's nice to see small clips or scenes that make me go "Hey, I remember that." More significantly though, it's interesting to see the influence that Justice League as a whole had on Young Justice, especially the earlier season which I hold so dearly within my heart. I didn't realize the two shows had that much similarity, and discovering that only made me enjoy this show that much more.

Speaking upon the romance between Green Lantern and Hawkgirl, I was pleasantly surprised by it. Of course, like practically everyone else, my favourite character is Batman, so I would have enjoyed more Wonder Woman and Batman moments, but GL x Hawkgirl is a pairing I don't think I've ever seen outside of this show, and it oddly works. Of course, Hawkgirl is almost always paired with Hawkman, so it was nice to see her not being paired with what's typical, which is why I loved Zatanna and Nightwing together so much in Young Justice (bring them back please).

Speaking on the format of the show, while I understand not showing two members at a time, I also feel like, they should have at the very least provided an explanation for why the members weren't present, because while it does allow for all the characters to have a little shine, sometimes it really does make you wonder "Why isn't Superman here? Or why isn't Wonder Woman here? Or where's Batman?" Other than that though, they should keep on doing what they're doing. From watching Flash try and deliver a toy to children in an orphanage, or a depowered Superman working together with a reformed Vandal Savage in the distant future, there's something for any superhero fan to enjoy.

Final Score: 75/100

Maybe it's because I had watched the first season, so I was more invested in this one, or it's because I simply tried harder, but this season felt better in my opinion. It just felt more polished. If you were wondering, my favourite characters are probably, Batman, Martian Manhunter, and the Flash, though I'd gladly take any more of the characters. I suppose my only critique is I would want to see the Justice League bonding, not fighting other people, but like just them chilling on the watchtower.
