"The Bear Season 2" I Need More Now

I got it before, but now I truly, I desperately want more of The Bear as soon as possible. While it will be super confusing that Carmy became ripped as hell, at the same time I really don't care because I need to see what's happening for my favourite group of terrible kitchen people. Frankly, I was a little scared the show was going off the rails, after all I saw less of people like Ebra, who just sort of mysteriously disappears, and less of people yelling corner at each other I was afraid the heart of the kitchen would be swept away in favour of more fine dining. After watching though, I am safe to report that the kitchen is still well and intact, and while my fears were not unfounded, what I found in stead of the small confined quarters of the first season were well written, just as captivating, single character focused episodes that really let each actor shine.

My personal favourite episode has to be Forks, because to be honest, my favourite character in this show is Richie. In fact, for all my fellow Richie lovers all I have to say is that we are eating good, because pretty much other than Tiff re-marrying, we have seen our 45-year old boy grow up so fast. With a developed appreciation for fine dining, he finally fits in, and my fears have been assuaged that Carmy would not feel a need to kick Richie out of the restaurant where he has stood thick and thin with. I mean a part of me genuinely thought he'd quit working at the bear before it even opened, but it seems that Richie finally found that purpose he was looking for at the beginning of the season.

Speaking of new additions, I must admit, I like Claire, I think she provides a good stable sort of outlet for Carmy, who we as viewers still really don't know much about. I mean we know he's a workaholic, and that he has a family, but at the same time, it's nice to see him sort of try and intergrate life into the work-life balance he's trying so desperately hard to create. Moreoever, shoutout Sugar man, she's a real, trooper, doing this all while pregnant and making sure shit actually gets done at the Bear, because we all know that Fak ain't cutting it for them.

I also have to give a shoutout to the Christmas episode, because while I was dreading watching an hour episode of the bear, that one episode provides so much context and clarity for me as a viewer. Throughout the entirety of the bear, you hear bits and pieces about this dysfunctional family, and for once you finally receive a sneak peak into it all. From how Richie and Fak are indeed included in the dinners, for what reason I have no idea but they were there, to how Michael was not as charismatic as everyone originally made it out to be. Lastly, I really did love all the guest actors in that episode. As a community fan it was cool to see Gillian Jacobs in addition to a "streets ahead" reference, not to mention Bob Odenkirk oddly fit in as that old weird uncle, even if I still always see him as Saul Goodman.

Final Score: 85/100

This is that real good stuff right here. If you're looking for an amazing show, look no further than The Bear, I love the cast, I need more right now, and I'm genuinely sad there's a writers strike because we'll probably be seeing more garbage before we can receive any sort of update to this show. Turns out it was not a one hit wonder, and I'm genuinely excited to see where this show goes, even if straits do feel dire, I always know deep down that this show wants to be somewhat hopeful, and that if nobody got me, I know cousin got me.
