"You Season 4" Wait I'm Kind of Digging It

 


    Look, I have conflicted opinions about this show, the first season was great, the second season was decent, the third season was absolutely awful, but this most recent season? This most recent season? Look, I think I might have to go watch Succession, because I'm just starting to think I enjoy watching rich people suffer. I wouldn't say this season reinvents the wheel, but at the very least it recognized that its time to inject the series with some life.

    Why might that be you ask? Well because for once Joe is against the wall. It's legitimately refreshing when he doesn't have to narrate any scene, or he has to be a mastermind, because frankly watching him run around and chase hints and clues like a mouse was actually fun. I mean of course most of it was ruined by the twist, but especially for the first season, while it was still around, I actually enjoyed being around and watching Joe Goldberg and company go romp around. I suppose when you forget someone's a murderer it's easier to root for them when they're surrounded by evil rich people.

    Speaking of rooting, Joe Goldberg has all my support. I just think it's always so fun to watch a murderer to succeed. Like, I know in my heart I should be supporting Nadia, but I really hated her the entire time, and I found myself rooting against a minority to support the white man, I really was ashamed of myself. I kind of laughed at how the ending was going, but to be honest, with the way they set this show up for season 5, I'm kind of excited for it.

    Look, I don't know, I don't think this show is groundbreaking, but it's fun, and frankly compared to other Netflix shows its actually good, which is becoming more and more rare these days. I just felt like, the Rhys being all in Joe's head thing was kind of lame, I just wanted it to be better. They wrapped it up with a tight little bow, But I didn't want that, I was ok with something messy, but it just felt like a copout. I wanted more, am I wrong for that?

    This score is still probably way too high, but look who cares man I'm going to have to admit that I enjoyed this show. How many shows can you say you're actually excited to see the next season for? It sounds kind of insane but I want a You season 5, don't judge me, because after the garbage you've seen from this show, it's time to be optimistic for once. I do have to admit Love Quinn was super hot I do miss her from time to time please bring her back in flashbacks that is all.

      Look, Danny Devito was the only reason this show had any sort of foothold in my mind. I kept on repeating I'm the trash man through many of my younger years, and frankly, after looking at the absurd number of seasons, I've always been wary of starting this sitcom. "System Of A Down - Toxicity" Stick it Out for the Second Half

      I have in fact tried listening to this album before. I remember Anthony Fantano saying he really loved Toxicity , so I decided to put on Prison Song  at 12 pm, before promptly realizing this is exactly the kind of music I'd rather not listen to going to sleep, and that the song was really on the nose. Other than that I have absolutely no prior experience with System Of A Down other than Chop Suey!  which is a lovely song that Jeff Rosenstock continues to play before every single one of his shows (thankfully). So I suppose I won't pretend to deliberate further because I'm not particularly a big metalhead either, so I doubt any knowledge I might impart would be useful. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 2"

      To me, Danny Devito was always It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia . Not because I was actually a big fan of him, but rather because he's so unique, with the way he looks and his general stature, I was half expecting him to steal the show and constantly be doing these feats of physical comedy. But he didn't, and I suppose that's on me, after all everyone in this TV show is supposed to be an asshole, so did I really expect him to be any different? I guess I just have this perception of him as this nice old man from Matilda but honestly at first his appearance in this show was just really jarring to me. He frankly looks younger than you'd think he is, though I suppose that's because of the age of the show, and him being framed as the father to Dee and Dennis took some getting used to for me. In spite of all that, I'd say by the end of this season Devito had grown on me, and frankly him and his hijinks are a welcome addition to help round out this cast.
