"Harley Quinn Season 2" I'm in Shambles

Call it subversion, call it true love, call it the right play all along, I call it betrayal. I am truly, greatly disgusted at the writers of Harley Quinn season 2. Not because they made Harley and Ivy lesbians, I actually thought that was the original direction they were going because in season 1 it was so obvious Ivy was helping Harley for more than just "friend" reasons, but because they hurt Kite Man. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU DO ALL THIS BUILD UP FOR ONE OF THE MOST WHOLESOME SUPERVILLAIN COUPLES JUST TO TEAR IT ALL AWAY FOR WHAT WAS THE MOST OBVIOUS PLOY THE ENTIRE TIME.

Look, I predicted the whole lesbian thing, I really did, but by the time we reached the end of season 2, especially the wedding between Harley and Ivy, I was fully invested in Poison Ivy and Kite Man having happiness together, and frankly I still am annoyed with Harley Quinn I still don't care about her and I'd much rather have a Poison Ivy show. I know I'm going to be ranting about this a lot, but the entire premise of this show is pretty much the first third being them taking over Gotham in some bizzarro way, and then just juggling with the Ivy Quinn romance.

I feel like they did not accomplish or resolve the relationship between the two in any valid way. I mean the advice people, including the Joker, gave Harley Quinn was to simply keep on rushing headfirst bashing her way into a relationship Poison Ivy was clearly not interested in. If she was truly a good friend she wouldn't be so selfish and attempt to insert herself into the picture at any moment. Also, I thought the entire point of being a supervillain was not owning an area that is part of the United States? Why was Quinn so ok with Gotham being a city state? I suppose I'm breaking my own rule and thinking too much about it.

I don't know, I just felt like, if they were going to make the romance more believable to me, they would need to actually focus on Poison Ivy more? Like in the first season they made it seem like she was crushing on Harley until Kite Man showed up, which always confused me. However, in the second season they pretty much went all in on Poison Ivy and Kite Man, and she pretty much never showed any sort of attraction to Harley unless it was those times they slept together. Personally, the season finale where Poison Ivy was like "I've been hiding parts of myself" was really forced and I just wish they didn't do my boy Kite Man and girl Poison Ivy so Dirty.

Look, it's a great show, I love the satirization's of classic Batman characters, especially Mister Freeze, Bane and Riddler, they really make the Harley Quinn show feel unique, rather than just a rehashing of classic Batman stories except Harley flavoured instead of Batman flavoured. It's just, they ruined my favourite couple, and for a couple they should have led with at the beginning, and didn't really develop until randomly in the second half of this season when they decided they wanted to do a wedding arc that ultimately developed into nothing. Seriously guys, we need better development.

Final Score: 75/100

I'm afraid to ask what season 3 of Harley Quinn entails considering how much I soured on the second season with the finale. For a show that features Harley Quinn I really am interested in everyone but her, even Doctor Psycho seems more compelling. Harley just feels like the haha I'm so quirky and funky look at me girl. I mean she literally repeats to herself about how crazy she is it's so cringe I don't care what the context is.
