"Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order" The Best Modern Star Wars Game?

I'll admit I'm somewhat of a huge Star Wars fan. I get excited for every film release, watch every TV show, keep up with all the big games. Despite all of that, nothing prepared me for how deep and amazing this game is. It absolutely oozes with passion and when I say it is by a decent margin the best star wars game released in a while I really do mean that.

What makes this game so excellent is the fact that it remains compelling while also feeling realistic, especially in terms of power levels. Rather than making this game feel as if it had no consequence, or having it be shoved in between one of the movies, this game focuses on an entirely new cast that the player bonds with over time. Not only does this ensure the game doesn't have to do any sort of janky timeline fudging to ensure that continuity is maintained, but it basically gives the developers an entirely new slate to work with, which they did.

The way the game is able to be so smooth with the force and all the athletic abilities of Cal is exquisite. Never once did I feel that the game was very janky as everything felt fluid while also being a generally beautiful game. Moreover, I loved how it basically let you play with any sort of lightsaber style you wanted, the customization felt like it was ripped straight from The Force Unleashed series of games, but even more complex, which is apparently something I needed in my life. Lastly, the combat was just fun, while it didn't feel overpowered like in The Force Unleashed there was something so satisfying by being able to take out a whole squad of stormtroopers with ease near the end game.

Overall, I would say that this game is easily one of my favourites with the only nitpick really being that I would have loved for the scope to be expanded. There were only really 4 worlds that were realized and even though they felt alive and large the reality of it was that the game felt oddly small at times. Like I understand the entire point of not having it all be explorable and simply having empty land it would have been cool to see this game on a grander scale with a larger budget.

Final Score: 90/100

In conclusion, no other Star Wars game really even comes close to Fallen Order in my opinion(other than the complete saga, and I haven't played any of the Old Republic games). It just feels oozing with passion and it doesn't need the player to be huge star wars fan to keep the player coming back for more. I really do hope this is the start to better Star Wars games as its been quite some time since I've been optimistic about the franchise.
